Counselor (3rd-5th Grades)
LaVorious M. Mullins, Ph.D
I was born in York, Alabama and that is where I attended school from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, as well as my Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling from Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tennessee. I received by Ph.D. from Clark Atlanta University in School Counseling. My certification in Leadership is from Georgia State University. I was employed by Clark Atlanta University for 11 years as the Coordinator of Advisement Services. I also was an adjunct professor while there, teaching General Psychology and First Year Seminar. For the past 22 years I have been employed by Dekalb County School System at Wynbrooke Traditional Theme School where I am one of two School Counselors. I came to Wynbrooke as a School Counselor 22 years ago and I have no plans of leaving anytime soon. I have one of the best jobs in the world. I have the wonderful opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with children as they develop into young men and women. I count it a blessing and a joy to have the opportunity to mold and shape young minds daily.
I was married for 34 years to my best friend, Charles Mullins, until his death in 2016. I am the mother of two (2) sons and the grandmother of three (3) growing little men.
