Weekly Update: May 11-15, 2020

Greetings Wynbrooke Parents

Happy belated Mother’s Day to all of our amazing mothers! We’d like to also thank you for making Teacher Appreciation Week special for our teachers even though we are not physically together. Our faculty has worked so hard to ensure that teaching and learning at Wynbrooke is seamless during this unprecedented time.

Last Day of School for DCSD Students

Friday, May 15th is the last day of school for our students. Please use May 11th-15th to finalize all virtual assignments, conference with your child’s teacher, submit late/missing assignments, etc. Teachers are working virtually this week and will be available to conference with you if requested. Final grades for the semester will be finalized by Friday, May 22nd. I have attached the DCSD presentation shared several weeks ago regarding procedures for closing out the 2019-2020 school year if you have additional questions about grading, etc. 2020 DCSD END OF YEAR GUIDE.pdf

Submitting Instructional Packets

Select students received instructional packets if there were limitations with access to devices or WiFi during our school closure.  If this pertains to your child, you should coordinate with your child’s teacher to submit the work electronically. You can also drop off the instructional packet at the school Thursday, May 14thth (after 12:00 pm) - Sunday, May 17th so that your child can receive credit.

  1. Student work must be clearly labeled with your child’s name and teacher’s name.
  2. Place student work in grade level specific bin near the main entrance of the school.
  3. Notify your child’s teacher.

I know there are many lingering questions regarding reimbursements, returning to the building to return or pick-up specific items, etc.  At this time, we do not have a time frame as to when it is appropriate for campus visits or when reimbursements will be processed. When our school district determines that it is safe for us to do so, I will be certain to share this information with our stakeholders.

Until then, please continue to be vigilant keep our students safe and healthy!
