School will be closed on Monday, September 4th in honor of Labor Day. We look forward to receiving our students on Tuesday, September 5th.
Morning Arrivals:
Our doors open to students at 7:00 am. Students are allowed to go to breakfast until 7:30 am or to the designated Grade Level Holding area. Teachers are not usually available during this time because of duties, meetings, etc. Students are released to their classrooms at 7:35am and the instructional day begins at 7:45 am. This does not allow a lot of time for extensive conversations with teachers, etc. because students are arriving, unpacking and preparing for the day. If you would like to speak with your child’d teacher we encourage you to schedule a conference so that he/she can focus on your specific needs.
Grading and Access to Infinite Campus:
Our administrative team is finalizing student schedules in Infinite Campus which has delayed teachers’ ability to enter grades in Infinite Campus-Parent Portal. We expect this process to be complete early next week so that you can monitor your child’s progress. We appreciate your patience.
Students will receive the 4.5 Progress Reports and MAP Assessment Reports on September 13th.
Title I:
Annual Title I Parent Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at 5:15 pm.
Curriculum Night:
We hope you will make plans to attend our annual Curriculum Night which will be held on Wednesday, September 6th for PreK-2nd and Thursday, September 7th for 3rd-5th, 6:00 pm-7:45 pm.
The purpose of Curriculum Night is to provide parents with an opportunity to engage with faculty and staff and learn more about our focus on teaching and learning. We will share information about the new DCSD Curriculum, Assessments, Grading Procedures, Infinite Campus-Parent Portal, Student Achievement Initiatives, Instructional Technology, Parental Involvement opportunities, and other pertinent school-based information.
The Technology Lab will also be available during Curriculum Night to assist parents with accessing Infinite Campus.
