Weekly Update: February 3-7

Greetings Wynbrooke Parents

We'd like to once again congratulate our students who were recognized during the 1st Semester Honors Day Programs held last week! We are proud of the hard work our scholars have demonstrated thus far and encourage them to continue the journey of academic excellence! We'd like to also thank our guest speakers, former Wynbrooke student, Dameon Fleming, Jr and author/motivational speaker, Mr. Dickerson for their powerful and inspirational messages shared with our students!

Parent University and Curriculum Night

It is IMPORTANT that ALL parents make plans to attend meetings for their child's grade level that will address critical information for a successful 2nd semester. We will provide more detailed information soon but ask that you place these dates on your calendars. Don't miss this opportunity to earn 2 Volunteer Hours and learn strategies to support your student in achieving goals during the 2nd semester. Please, please, please plan to attend!

Volunteer Opportunities: On Friday, February 7th, we will celebrate our Wolverine Scholars who met or exceeded the Winter MAP Growth Goal in Reading or Math. We will need lots of parent volunteers to make this celebration a success for our students. Please sign up using the Sign Up Genius link below if you'd like to volunteer

Georgia Parent School Climate Survey

Parents, we encourage you to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey. The data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please take advantage of this opportunity to provide your feedback on ways we can become a more effective school!

Cell Phone Use

Per the DCSD Code of Student Conduct, it is a violation for students to use cell phones during the school day which includes while on the school bus. All violations of this school district expectation will result in confiscation of the device by a school administrator. Students will also receive a consequence which will become a part of their permanent school record. Parents are strongly encouraged to monitor the content of your child's cell phones to ensure it is age-appropriate.

Have a WONDERFUL evening!
